The Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) hosted its 14th annual Sand Sculpture Festival and Competition on Sunday, October 13, at the EMU Beach Facilities. The event, traditionally organized by the EMU Faculty of Architecture's Department of Interior Architecture and the Design Club, took place from 10:00 to 18:00.
Participants, primarily university students, worked in groups to create sand sculptures in designated areas. The event was attended by EMU President Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç, Faculty of Architecture Dean Prof. Dr. Resmiye Alpar Atun, Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Asu Tozan, and Head of Interior Architecture Assoc. Prof. Dr. Afet Coşkun, alongside faculty members and students from universities and high schools across Northern Cyprus.
The jury, composed of esteemed academics from various universities, evaluated 16 sculptures. The top five groups were announced as follows:
The winners received their awards from Prof. Dr. Kılıç, Prof. Dr. Atun, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Coşkun, and Prof. Dr. Tozan, marking the conclusion of the event, which ended with a group photo.
