TRNC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, following a series of crucial meetings during his visit to the Republic of Turkey, has emphasized the swift implementation of road projects in Northern Cyprus. Speaking at Ercan Airport, Üstel highlighted the significant progress made in his discussions with Turkey's Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, regarding key road developments.
Kyrenia-Çatalköy Road Renewal to Begin Soon
Prime Minister Üstel announced that preparations for the rapid renewal of the Girne-Çatalköy road have been completed, with work set to begin shortly. He stressed the critical importance of this project for improving transportation in the region, noting that it will greatly ease traffic flow.
Priority Given to Çatalköy-Değirmenlik and Dipkarpaz Roads
In addition to the Kyrenia-Çatalköy project, Prime Minister Üstel revealed that other major routes, including the Çatalköy-Değirmenlik and Dipkarpaz Manastır roads, will also undergo significant renewal. These projects are being prioritized, with the necessary groundwork already underway.
Focus on Road Safety and Solar-Powered Lighting
Prime Minister Üstel highlighted that the road renewal projects will incorporate modern technologies to enhance safety. This includes plans to install solar-powered lighting systems along the roads, ensuring safer and more energy-efficient travel.
He concluded by noting that these infrastructure improvements, made possible through close collaboration with Turkey, will modernize the TRNC’s road network, enhancing safety and efficiency for the local population.
