In the week of September 9-15, 82 traffic accidents occurred in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), resulting in two fatalities and 28 injuries. According to a police statement, out of the 82 accidents, two led to deaths, 20 caused injuries, and 60 resulted in property damage.
The primary causes of these accidents were speeding (24 cases), careless driving (19 cases), failure to stop at intersections (16 cases), following too closely (14 cases), and other factors (9 cases). The total damage from these incidents amounted to 4,808,122 TL.
Accident Distribution by District:
Traffic Inspections and Violations: During the same period, police inspected 13,791 vehicles across the TRNC. Legal action was taken against 2,462 drivers for various traffic offenses, and 196 vehicles were banned from the roads. Additionally, five drivers were arrested.
