???? Reed and Stream Cleaning – In collaboration with the Turkish Cypriot Municipalities Union and the District Governorship, dense reed areas were cleared in Gülseren & Çanakkale Ponds, while stream beds were cleaned to ensure better water flow.
???? Sewage pump stations are inspected weekly.
???? Spraying completed in key areas including:
✅ Great Industrial Zone
✅ Tuzla Neighborhood
✅ Famagusta Suriçi
✅ MTG Field water channel
???? Manhole spraying is ongoing as part of a region-based program.
???? Fly control spraying with mobile vehicles will begin mid-March.
???? GMB Health Branch Manager İlke Soyer emphasized that mosquito larvae thrive in stagnant water and urged residents to:
✅ Avoid leaving open water puddles in buckets, tires, or open tank lids.
✅ Keep water storage lids closed at home to prevent larvae breeding.
These efforts aim to ensure a mosquito-free summer, protecting public health and enhancing quality of life in Famagusta.
