Dener Öymen, President of the Cyprus Turkish Guides Association (KITREB), has extended congratulations to all tourist guides in celebration of World Tourist Guides Day, emphasizing the crucial role they play in the tourism sector.

Öymen highlighted that February 21st has been recognized as World Tourist Guides Day since 1990, marking the unification of guide associations from different continents under a single federation in 1985. The TRNC has been celebrating this day since 2000, under KITREB’s leadership, through various awareness and professional development activities.

Tourist Guides as Ambassadors of Peace

Öymen announced that the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA) has set the 2025 theme as "Guides are Tourism’s Peace Ambassadors." Additionally, the magazine "Tourist Guide" will be published tomorrow, featuring industry updates and insights.

Advocacy for Legal Rights & Professional Recognition
