The Famagusta Municipality (GMB) has initiated an ambitious project to renovate and rebuild neglected artificial turf and sports facilities across the city.

Project Overview

• Scope:
  The project will overhaul a total of 8 sports fields, including:

  • Artificial turf football fields.
  • Volleyball courts.
  • Basketball courts.
  • Tennis courts.

• Budget:
  The estimated cost of the project is 2,855,000 TL, with work being carried out in collaboration with three contracted construction companies.

• Current Progress:
  Renovation efforts have commenced at Sakarya MAGEM, targeting the football and basketball fields and two tennis courts in the city center. Initial activities include:

  • Removing wire fencing.
  • Ground preparation.

Planned Enhancements

1. Sports Facilities Upgrades:

   • Installation of new artificial turf and acrylic painting for courts.
   • Painting of goalposts, iron structures, and spectator stands.
   • Replacement of benches and garbage bins.
   • Landscaping and maintenance.

2. Electrical and Lighting Systems:

   • Repairs to electrical infrastructure.
   • Inspection and servicing of projectors and panels.

3. Environmental Improvements:

   • Tree pruning and general landscaping around sports areas.
   • Weed removal and cleaning.

Modernizing Sakarya MAGEM

The basketball, football, and tennis courts at Sakarya MAGEM are receiving significant upgrades, with plans for improved landscaping, modernized electrical systems, and safe, contemporary sports facilities.
