Ercan Airport Welcomes 121 Flights on New Year's Day 2025

    Ercan Airport, the gateway to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), started 2025 on a high note, serving 121 flights on January 1, 2025.

    According to a statement by T&T Airport Operations, Ercan Airport hosted 738 aircraft and 95,440 passengers during the week spanning December 28, 2024, to January 3, 2025.


    New Year Traffic Highlights

    Record-Breaking Day: January 1, 2025

    On the first day of the year, Ercan Airport experienced its busiest day, with:

    • 121 flights (including private planes).
    • 13,646 passengers served.

    Weekly Flight and Passenger Statistics

    Ercan Airport handled:

    • December 28, 2024: 105 flights, 13,426 passengers.
    • December 29, 2024: 117 flights, 16,582 passengers.
    • December 30, 2024: 102 flights, 12,633 passengers.
    • December 31, 2024 (New Year’s Eve): 73 flights, 9,352 passengers.
    • January 1, 2025: 121 flights, 13,646 passengers.
    • January 2, 2025: 112 flights, 14,534 passengers.
    • January 3, 2025: 108 flights, 15,267 passengers.

    Seamless Operations Amid High Traffic

    Thanks to the comprehensive measures implemented by T&T Airport Operations, passengers experienced smooth and comfortable travel during the New Year rush.

    General Manager M. Serhat Özçelik stated:

    "The New Year was as busy as ever at Ercan Airport, and we ensured seamless service to passengers. We are grateful to all stakeholders who contributed to the smooth handling of the heavy traffic."
