The Cyprus Turkish Public Officials Union (KTAMS) has announced that the hunger threshold for a family of four in the TRNC stands at 27,567 TL as of December 31, 2024.

In its statement, KTAMS detailed the mandatory daily food expenditure required for a healthy diet for individuals:

• Adult Woman: 237.10 TL per day, totaling 7,113 TL per month.
• Adult Man: 247.81 TL per day, totaling 7,434.30 TL per month.
• Teenager (15-19 years): 261 TL per day, totaling 7,830 TL per month.
• Child (4-6 years): 173 TL per day, totaling 5,190 TL per month.

Inflation Trends in 2024

KTAMS highlighted that, according to official figures from the Statistical Institute, the inflation rate in December 2024 was 1.10%.

• Quarterly Inflation (September-December 2024): 11.12%.
• Annual Inflation: 53.29%.

Cost of Healthy Living

The union emphasized that a family of four must allocate at least 27,567 TL per month for food expenses to maintain a healthy, balanced, and adequate diet, reflecting the growing economic challenges faced by households.
