Ercan Airport, the largest airport in Cyprus, continues to experience remarkable growth in passenger and aircraft traffic following the opening of its modernized facilities and extended runway. The new runway, now 3,000 meters long, accommodates larger aircraft and is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, making Ercan Airport a key hub in the region.
According to T&T Airport Operations, the number of passengers increased by 21.14% and the number of aircraft by 14.85% in the 11-month period between January-November 2023 and January-November 2024.
In the first 11 months of 2023, 3,637,741 passengers used the old Ercan Airport. This figure rose to 4,406,672 during the same period in 2024, marking a significant milestone for the newly upgraded airport.
