The Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), in collaboration with the Cyprus Turkish Tourism and Travel Agencies Association (KITSAB) and SunExpress Airlines, organized a significant workshop to strengthen ties with the German tourism market. Held at the Acapulco Hotel, the event brought together approximately 40 German agency representatives and local tourism agencies affiliated with KITSAB for one-on-one meetings to explore collaboration opportunities.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Fikri Ataoğlu emphasized the growing importance of Northern Cyprus as a destination for SunExpress Airlines and expressed gratitude to all participants for their contributions to the tourism sector.
In his speech, Ataoğlu highlighted:
“Germany is one of the countries where we aim to develop the strongest cooperation in tourism,” Ataoğlu said, adding, “Today's event is more than just a meeting; it’s a step toward building mutual understanding, cultural exchange, and strong partnerships.”
SunExpress Turkey Sales Manager Murat Hatipoğlu presented the airline’s vision and commitment to improving air transportation options to Northern Cyprus. This enhanced connectivity aims to position Northern Cyprus as a competitive destination in global tourism markets.
KITSAB Vice President Oğuz Akançay and KITOB Vice President Fethi Özboğaç also shared their insights, highlighting the critical role of collaboration between airlines, local agencies, and international partners.
Minister Ataoğlu underlined the broader significance of tourism beyond economic benefits, emphasizing its role in cultural connection. “Tourism is a team effort. By working together, we can strengthen our cooperation sustainably,” he said. He encouraged participants to explore the unique charm, history, and natural beauty of Northern Cyprus during their visit.
The workshop set the stage for deepened cooperation between Northern Cyprus and German tourism agencies, aligning with the TRNC’s long-term strategy to position itself as a preferred Mediterranean destination.
