Mayor of the Nicosia Turkish Municipality (LTB), Mehmet Harmancı, met with muhtars (local leaders) at the annual evaluation night to discuss progress, highlight achievements, and emphasize the importance of collaboration. Vice President Tolga Ahmet Raşit and members of the assembly also attended the event.
Mayor Harmancı extended an invitation to the muhtars to participate in the upcoming Ülker Lefkoşa Marathon on December 1, whose proceeds will benefit the Lefkoşa Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital Oncology Center’s Child Oncology Service.
In his address, Harmancı reflected on the municipality's progress since his tenure began in 2014, stating that collaboration with the muhtars has been instrumental in erasing the negative remnants of the past. He noted that while early challenges involved basic functionality, today’s discussions focus on prioritizing investments for the city.
“2024 has been a milestone year for us,” Harmancı said, adding that it has enabled record-breaking investments after years of struggle.

Harmancı also acknowledged the critical role of municipal council members in achieving these milestones.
