The Ministry of Health has confirmed that seawater analyses conducted across the island in July have shown that the waters are clean. In a recent statement, the Ministry emphasized that the July analysis results, which were evaluated according to the European Union's microbiological criteria, confirmed the cleanliness of the seawater. The Ministry also addressed concerns about misleading comments circulating on social media and in the public domain regarding the water quality.
The Ministry assured the public that the results of these seawater analyses are shared transparently each month on the Ministry's official website. The sampling process for August is currently underway, and the results will be made available on the same platform.
These seawater analyses are conducted by the State Laboratory as part of a cooperation protocol between the Deputy Prime Ministry, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment, and the Ministry of Health. This collaboration focuses on the “Monitoring, Sampling, and Analysis of Seawater Quality throughout the TRNC,” ensuring the ongoing safety and cleanliness of the island's waters.
