Traffic inspections conducted across the country yesterday resulted in 308 drivers being reported for various traffic offenses, 20 vehicles banned from traffic, and one driver arrested, according to the Police Press Bulletin.
Of the 1,851 drivers checked, notable violations included 157 drivers exceeding the legal speed limit, 23 failing to obey traffic lights, 18 using mobile phones while driving, and 11 operating vehicles without valid licenses. Additional offenses included 9 drivers under the influence of alcohol, 7 without seat belts, 4 without protective helmets on motorcycles, and 3 driving uninsured vehicles. One driver was reported for driving without a license or insurance, while 75 others were cited for miscellaneous offenses.
The inspections aim to enhance road safety and reduce traffic violations, highlighting the importance of following traffic laws to protect both drivers and the public.
